General Questions/New to Joomla! 5.x • Re: Order articles by an action date

I have given this a little more thought.
The particular blog list that I am wanting to order is a list of Upcoming Event articles. These may get created in some random order depending on when I receive notification of the event and will be given a Publish Date anything from 4-8 weeks prior to the event, BUT will always have an Unpublish Date on the date of the actual event occurring - there's no point in keeping them around like a bad smell after the event is over.
It strikes me that if I go

• Menu: Edit Item -> Blog Layout -> Article Order

and set that field as "Article Order", and similarly,

• Menu: Edit Item -> Blog Layout -> Date for Ordering

and set that field as "Unpublished",
that might just give me what I seek.

OK, prove me wrong...
